Boys Head Coach Jack Corcoran

Jack Corcoran has coached Staples Rugby for the past 6 years and has been playing rugby for the past 18 years.  Jack’s rugby playing career started at Fairfield Prep, continued at Southern Connecticut State University and continued with the Fairfield Yankees Men's Rugby Club for the past 8 years, winning the D3 Club National Championship team in 2016. 

Jack is a USA Rugby Level 1 certified coach. He also serves as the Head Coach of Sacred Heart University and resides in Newtown, Connecticut.  Jack is ready to continue the growth of Staples Rugby into one of the best High School Rugby programs in the country, while helping all Staples Rugby players grow into mature dedicated young adults prepared for the world after high school.  

Jack also owns his own personal training business, JHC Fitness LLC, in Shelton Connecticut.

Girls Assistant coach - Pia Reyes

Pia started her rugby journey at the University of Connecticut in 2016. She currently plays for the Fairfield Lady Yankees and serves as captain. Pia is dedicated to expanding her rugby knowledge and recently became a USA Rugby Level 1 certified coach and referee. She is committed to the development of young players and is an assistant coach for the under-10s for Stamford Rugby Club.

Additionally, she currently works in Greenwich Public Schools as a paraprofessional. 

Boys D2 Headcoach/Assist. D1 coach

Bill San Giacomo

Coach SanG is a USA Rugby certified Level 1 Coach. He played Rugby for Danbury RFC from 1996-2004 and was Head Coach at Western CT State University from 1998-2013.

He is currently the Head Coach of Danbury RFC where he started in 2013. He has been the assistant Coach at Staples High School since 2021.

Girls Head Coach Robin Myers

Robin started his rugby career at Paarl Primary School in South Africa as a Flanker and over the course of his High School migrated to the front row.

After University, he spent a year traveling and was player/coach for a season at Kibbutz Yisrael in Israel, culminating in a front row selection for Northern Kibbutzim against a South African Combined Universities team. Returning to South Africa, Robin was again a player/coach for the Cappies Rugby Team in Cape Town.

Robin is a FITCO Personal Fitness Trainer - Aerobics Instructor and was a member of FITCO’s advisory board, South Africa.

Since emigrating to the USA, Robin has been involved in triathlon, as a participant, coach, administrator, race director, club president and treasurer.

He is currently Head Coach for the Race4Chase Triathlon at the Westport Weston Family Y as well as Team Mossman Events in Lake Placid NY.

Robin is certified as a World Rugby Level 1 coach and USA Triathlon Race Director Level 2.

Boys Froshmore Head Coach/Assist. D1 coach

Austin Ryan

Coach Austin began his rugby career at Fairfield Prep, continuing at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. He began his coaching career as a senior in college as he led Brookfield High School Girls to 4th place at Nationals in 2010.

Beginning his career as a high school English teacher, he coached Jesuit Dallas boys while playing D1 club rugby for the Dallas Reds. Returning to Connecticut in 2014 to work in Development at Fairfield Prep, he served as head coach for Fairfield University Women’s Rugby and joined the Fairfield Yankees as a member of the 2016 D3 Club National Championship team! Stepping away from college coaching, Austin joined Westport PAL from 2017-2019. He returned to college rugby as head coach for Fairfield University Men’s Rugby in Fall 2019, where he now serves as full time Director of Rugby.

Boys Assistant Froshmore coach

Jefferson Kitt

Coach Kitt started his coaching career with Westport PAL rugby in 2013.  He has served on the board of directors for approximately the last 10 years.  During that time, he has coached U10, U12, and U14 with a focus around developing a rugby culture built on hard work and discipline.  In 2019 he joined the Staples Rugby program as an assistant coach.  While working with the Freshman, JV, and Varsity teams he has contributed to a strong family culture built on hard work and discipline.  This work ethic has helped the teams’ understand the foundations of Rugby, strength, physicality, and mental toughness.  From this hard work, during the 2021-2022 season Coach Kitt and the rest of the coaching staff at Staples helped take the Rugby team to a state championship while placing fourth in the nation.  During the off season Coach Kitt is a strength and conditioning coach where he continues his commitment to developing great athletes from the ground up.
